-At-Home Whitening:

For this procedure, two dental visits are required. During the first visit, impressions of the upper and lower teeth are taken using alginate material, which are then sent to the dental laboratory for the fabrication of custom-made clear trays.

During the second visit, a few days later, the trays are tried in the patient’s mouth to ensure a proper fit, and instructions are provided on the correct and safe use of the whitening products.

In-office whitening can be performed either during the day for a limited period (45 minutes to 1.5 hours) or overnight while sleeping. The patient can choose the whitening procedure that best suits their needs.

The procedure can last from 5 to 14 days, depending on the initial color of the teeth and the desired result. This method is the least aggressive, as lower concentrations of the active agent are used, yet it provides long-lasting results.

The whitening gel is applied directly to the teeth by the dentist. Prior to this, the gums are carefully isolated to prevent contact with the gel, which, due to its high concentration of the active whitening agent, could cause significant irritation.

The gel is usually activated using a special light, although some products work without a light. The procedure is repeated 2–3 times during each session.

This procedure may require only one or two visits, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. The results are immediate, but it has been observed that over time the teeth may return to their original color, making it necessary to repeat the procedure if desired.
