These measures include regular dental check-ups, professional teeth cleaning, as well as patient education in daily oral care using the proper techniques, enabling patients to actively contribute to maintaining their oral health.

Procedure: Professional dental cleaning is designed to remove plaque and calculus (tartar) from the teeth and gums. Generally, the cleaning involves the use of ultrasonic devices that break down tartar, combined with manual instruments (scalers) to ensure its complete removal. In cases of discolorations or deposits on the tooth surfaces, air-polishing systems with fine powder (air abrasion) are used to eliminate them. Afterwards, a special polishing paste is applied with rotary brushes to smooth the teeth.

Regular clinical and radiographic examinations of the teeth and periodontal tissues help in the early diagnosis of oral pathologies and their treatment. The patient is fully informed of the findings, and together with the dentist, a treatment plan and a recall schedule are established.
